Help For Splayed Leg

I have tried fixing a splayed leg a few times, with varying degrees of success. The best outcomes were when I noticed the issue early on, before the leg was rotated outward too much. I currently have a baby that I've been hand feeding, it had a splayed leg, and then got attacked by another bird (probably because it was "different"). My usual "go-to" is a thick elastic type hair band, pulled through a short length of a drinking straw. I work the pigeons legs through each end of the "hobble" and leave it on. This particular one has been wearing its "splint" for about two weeks. I took it off the other day to check, its leg isn't perfect, but I think it's pulled in enough to give it a good quality of life. I put it back on to go take photos for you; pix are attached below, not sure what order they'll come up in! Another method I've read is to put snap bands on each leg, and tie a string/cord between the bands. (or if already banded, you only need a snap bandette on the other leg). Good luck! ~ Debbie Rudd
